About Me

My name is Jill.  I am a wife, a mother, a civil engineer, a homeowner and many things I always planned to be.  I am also infertile a recurrent miscarriage-er, a mother through kinship adoption, a raw foodist, a blogger and many other things I never thought I would be.  This blog chronicles our adoption journey from 20 weeks into my son's gestation to the present... with a twist of our experience trying to conceive, grieving infertility, and what I consider my twisted sense of humor.

Here are the lead roles in my play:

Cory - my husband
River - our son
Angie - River's first mom
PJ - River's older first brother
PA - River's younger first brother
Mr. F - River's first dad

Angie is not River's first mom's real name.  Instead it is a nickname I use to respect her privacy.  It is also short for Earth Angel because she truly is.  Not just because she placed River with us but because we've spent countless nights on the phone laughing, crying and healing together and I don't know where I would be without her today.

Mr. F is not River's first dad's real name, either.  Nor is it anywhere close.  Instead it is a nickname I chose to pay homage to THE.BEST.TV.SHOW.EVER... Arrested Development... and because out of respect for his desired privacy I don't talk about Mr. F much on this blog.  Therefore, to readers, he will remain a similarly mysterious character to Mr. F on Arrested Development. (Click here for Wiki) He will not be a mysterious character for River, though, and that is the most important.  Like Angie he is an amazing person who has given River amazing heritage.

All other names, characters and events on this blog are based on real people and events :)
