THE.BEST.POST.EVER.

On grieving the loss of a child.

Tending To Our Wounds

Whoa, there don't everyone rush there all at once! I know it is such a chipper way to start out the New Year :) I just HAD to share because the author does an amazing job describing the grieving process that society isn't built to support or recognize. The author lost her daughter to leukemia 28 days after she was born and I believe that anyone who has lost a child to death (at any age even if it was only measured in weeks of gestation), lost the chance of a child to infertility, lost a child in a failed adoption, or lost a child when placing him/her for adoption will find a kindred spirit in the author and a voice for emotions that often are difficult to describe.

This year I participated in Mel's Creme de la Creme 2010 which is a collection of blog posts written by those in the Adoption-Loss-Infertility (ALI) community. This post was at the top of the list. I would recommend browsing through Creme de la Creme if you are interested. There are A LOT of great posts. Check me out at #142. I submitted my post on Grieving Infertility.

Here's to 2011 being a great one for all of us with answers to our many prayers. Even if it is just to find the ability to grieve and find peace in the journey of our life.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and posting. It's funny, but yes, I am a counselor. I have my masters degree in counseling psychology. Right now, I do work in research. But, once I get myself settled I very much want to work as an Infertility Counselor. So... you weren't too far off!

I will have to check out the post you have on here as well...if it's from Once a Mother, I do follow her blog it's wonderful.
